TEAMS Program
Teacher Experiences Advancing Mathematics and Science
Scholarship Opportunity for Future STEM Teachers
The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship TEAMS Program provides graduate students, majoring in math or science with a career path into teaching at the middle or high school level.
Through this program, you can receive up to $36,500 in scholarships and other financial support to earn your bachelor's degree and teaching credential. You'll also gain valuable hands-on training within a school setting.
The program includes a residency with Oxnard Union High School District. Our goal is to develop aspiring STEM teachers with culturally sustaining teaching strategies to serve in our regional high-need schools.
How does it work?
The TEAMS program is a multi-year program
- Graduate Students: You’ll start the program upon completion of foundational courses. Upon completion of these prerequisites, graduates will become TEAMS Candidates and begin a full-time year-long residency which will culminate with the earning of a California Teaching Credential. Upon hiring, you'll become a TEAMS Teacher and receive $1,000 in classroom supplies and collaborative support for your first two years as a certificated teacher.
What are the benefits?
- Teaching Credential year: $36,500 stipend
- Initial year on the job: Funding for classroom supplies
- Ongoing mentoring and professional development
- Candidates accepted into the program will make connections between theory and practice by participating in a year-long teacher residency program in a high school setting.
